A Christian Worldview Essay free essay sample

Since the problem of the world is the rejection of truth, I think understanding what truth is is important. I believe that truth is whatever affirms reality as God sees it. So for anything to be true, it has to match with that definition. â€Å"I’m the way and the truth†¦Ã¢â‚¬ John 14:6. They only way to truth is God. Man had totally lost the touch of reality and put themselves in the state of common insanity. And this is the reason Jesus was born; â€Å"to testify to the truth† John 18:37. Without truth man is unable to find the presence of God. For salvation is when a person accepts God truth as reality. Even though people rejected the source of truth, they still want to know what is real. Man has before himself a lot of big philosophical questions. What is reality? What does it mean to exist? If I exist, why do I exist? How do I know I exist? What is the purpose of life? The answer to these questions affect the way man view self and others. Naturalism believes that only nature; what you can see, touch, and feel, exists. They believe that the world is a Cosmic Cube; everything is inside the cube, and nothing behind it. They take God away from the picture. The implications to the naturalistic philosophy are that there is no God or purposive forces; no free will; no life after death; no real meaning of life. Utilitarian is to believe that you should do what you think is good. So according to these philosophies, man is free to do anything as long as he thinks it is good. Still away from the truth, people want to know what is right and wrong. Ethics is the study of what is right and wrong. Man is trying to find what is right and wrong based on what most people think. Some people believe that there is no absolute true. Man fails to find the answer to the big questions in their philosophy of naturalism and postmodernism. I believe that man has been created dualistic, at the image of God and innocent. Then man sinned, and sent to the fallen mode, which lead to hell. The only way for man to get out of that mode is to accept the truth, and go the redemption mode where they will be either glorified of sanctified. But the naturalistic philosophy teaches that man is rather monistic; made only of the body and have no free will. Abraham Maslow said that the higher need that man can reach is the self-actualization; the need for development and creativity. There is no supernatural power according to the naturalistic philosophy. Philosopher such as Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers said that human is good by nature. Carl Rogers said â€Å"Evil is not inherent in human nature. † If human is good by nature, then why does evil is found at every corner of the world? What those philosophers are saying does not make any sense. Where does evil come from if it is not inherent in human nature? â€Å"Human is good,† Abraham Maslow said, â€Å"but religion, culture, made him bad, by making him feel guilty about what he wants to do. † In a secular worldview, evil come from anything that hold man back from his desire. So Christianity is what they blame for the existence of evil. Theology is the study of the existence, nature, and attributes of God. It is impossible to completely describe God, but I believe that knowing God is very important. When we come to know God, we have a better knowledge of ourselves. We then realize how small we really are and how big and powerful God is. When we know God we have a good self image, not because of what we are or have, but because God in is infinite power cares about us and want to develop a relationship with such tiny particles as us. From the Apostle Paul perspective, knowing the nature and the person of God is the highest goal a human can pursue. Nothing is more important than knowing God. Knowing God is eternal life; the relationship, the personal communion with God. But rather than looking for a relationship with God, people are trying to destroy God and His word. But every thing will pass away, and God’s world will stay eternal. The Jesus Seminar was founded, and their goal was to prove that the bible is not true. Many attempts were made by culture to destroy God’s word. Science is the systematic study of the natural and physical world based on observation and experimentation. Using science, people are trying to understand the world. But how can they understand the world if they don’t know how every thing came to existence? Scientists have to either believe that cosmos has a beginning or it has always existed. With God pulling out of the picture, it makes a problem to believe that cosmos had a beginning. If it has a beginning, then there have to be the existence of a great Designer. A conflict between design and randomness take place. Can we believe that there are scrabble letters dropping at a table trying to make a phrase? I think it is impossible to get anything like that out of chaos. â€Å"Time makes all things possible† Wald says. A hypothesis is an educated guess. When a hypothesis is tested, and proven true by experience, it became a theory. If it keeps proven true overtime, it becomes a law. Darwin’s theory of evolution believes that complicate creatures are from simple creature revolutionized over a long period of times. In this theory, man is considered a descendent of animal revolutionized over times. Can we accept that all the living creatures are results of evolution? If man is nothing more than an animal, then there are no needs of doing goods for other, no meaning of life. Could some pieces of metal revolutionized to make a computer? Considering Paley’s argument; if someone is walking on a forest and find a watch on the ground, would any one assume that it has been made by the forest? Nature is sure too complicated to be a result of evolution. Darwin’s theory is clearly nonsense. But Francis Crick says that Biologist must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed but evolved. Nature is sure too complex to develop little by little. The human body is composing of tiny little machines, each with their roles. In each little cell, there are some tiny machines perfectly design for the function of the body. The molecular biology proves the existence these machines find inside a cell; the most compelling evidence of design. Molecular biology is the study of the molecule’s life. I believe there is an intelligent being that created every thing and put the order for each ones. Each of these tiny machines is working in the cell, each ones with its proper duty. They all works in such an order like a big factory. Can we say they are resulting from evolution? This is the irreducible complexity. The theory of directed Panspermia says that the first living cell must have been transported from another planet outside our solar system, then through evolution, transformed to become a man. Icons of evolution are pictures used to prove evolution. They try to show how man, having some similar muscles structures with animals is a proof of evolution. The first living cells must have been transformed into billions form to give man. They cannot even prove the existence of these billion structures. According to the theory of punctuated equilibrium, evolutions are steps. From Luvtrup’s perspective; one day, the Darwinian myth will be ranked the greatest deceit in the history of science. When we don’t know where we came from, we also have no idea where we are going. Knowing where we came from also help understand where we are at and why. To know where we came from, History is our help. I think History is very important because it tells us who we are and makes us understand where we are going. Karl Max said â€Å"without History we are lost. History is a heritage that should be keeping carefully. When we are looking at the face of God, His nature, it tells us that History is important. The Bible tells us of how important History is to God. Joshua chapter 4; God asked the Israelites to pick up twelve stones from the Jordan River, and the objective was to help them remember where they came from. He also commands them to celebrate many feasts in order to remember what He had done for them. And the result whenever they forget what God had done for them and where they came from, they went worshiping idols. What is the reason for many things we see today? We can only understand them through History. History quiz is to demonstrate how you view the present, based on what you learned from the past. Because History affects how we understand the present, if we don’t know our History we will easily believe any lies; â€Å"Because people without heritage are easily persuaded. † There is a power in Historical Revisionism; because by changing History, you can control someone’s thought. I believe that History is God’s story, and there is a metanarrative; a big story that tied everything together. The Pilgrims believed that we are part of a bigger picture. So life is more than just me and you. I believe that is in charge of every thing, He gave us the abilities to make choice, but He still in control of our life. People tried to change the significance of History, they say History is rather a tool and there is no metanarrative, no big picture, and God is not in control. â€Å"For God is not a God of confusion but of peace†¦Ã¢â‚¬ 1 Corinthians 14:33. God created the heaven and the earth and all creatures. As God is a God of order, His divine imprint is found in all of His creatures. We see Mark of God everywhere, in all relationship, in all creatures. Every thing that God create, He put a specific order on it. The blood cut, the chicken egg, the water recycling system; they are all example of God order. Life is all about relationship. After God created man, He saw it not good for man to be alone, because God is the God of relationship. God created a companion for man, and set up a social order based on Him. God has set up an order of relationship on everything. Scripture tells that disorder is found where there is ambition, jealousy, and selfish: James 3:16. For unity and relationship is part of God’s nature. The Trinity shows God’s relationship nature. The three members; God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all united together in a perfect order to make one. I think that the relationship between the three members that form the Trinity should be an example in all relationships. God is the head, the Son submits to the father, and the Holy Spirit is from the Father and the Son. This same order is to be in the church and in the family. The husband is the heads of the wife just like Jesus is the head of the church. Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so the husband must be to his wife. And as the church submits to Christ in every thing, so the wife have to submit to her husband. So God created a specific way that family and church should operate, and it is based on His own character. The relationship between God and Man is a mystery, we cannot fully understand it. When we accept Christ as our savior, we come to have a relationship with God. This relationship is more than friendship, God come to live into our heart and become part of our body. We now become one with God. Just like The Father is in Christ and Christ in the Father, so Christ is in us and us in Him. We become one with Him; this is the mystical union. Christ is the head of the church, and every believer is a member of the body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-30. The same mystery also exists in the family. Ephesians 5:31 â€Å"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. † The husband and the wife become one flesh, one body. This is as hard to understand as the relationship in the Trinity. God the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit are all one together. John 14:20. I believe that the way you sees the present is based on what you learned from the past, and believe. The way you see the present affect how you view others and self. I believe that God is the only source of truth. I believe that God is omnipresent and omnipotent. God is in control of History, He is telling the story from the beginning to a definite end. I think that the entire world crisis is because the world is not abiding in the truth. People don’t know where they came from, they don’t know the big History of earth, and they are lost. More we get away from the source of truth, more we believe any lies, and more our society decay.
